      When I fall in love with a house I get a little cuckoo. I know I really need a top-notch inspection to bring me back to reality as soon as possible. My husband and I hired Mark Lotane to inspect the house we wanted and we pretty much followed him the whole time. He never acted in a hurry. He explained every question we had. He made us feel much better about what we were getting into so we could make a better counter-offer during the due-diligence period.

Hi, Mark. My name is Carolyn A. and my husband and I have a contract
on a house in Daniell Plantation in Watkinsville. A week or so ago we
had the home inspected by HomePro and Houseman Pest Control and some
concerns (plumbing issues and termites) were noted. We informed the home

On May 15, 2009 I had a home inspection performed on a piece of property that I am purchasing in Bogart GA. The Home Inspector, Mr. Mark Lotane, was a true professional in every sense of the word. He reported right on time, was extremely friendly and personable and has a wealth of knowledge on all aspects of home building. He spent time checking the structure of the home (interior and exterior), it's electrical system, plumbing and kitchen appliances. He entered the attic and inspected the insulation as well as the heating and air conditioning system and even climbed onto the roof to inspect the windows and the dryer vent. I was very impressed by his thoroughness, his attitude and his approach to his work. Mark has truly found his vocational niche and I would heartily recommend him to anyone in need of a housing inspection. His courteousness, his knowledge of the building trades and all around professionalism cannot be overemphasized.

It was a pleasure to meet you, yesterday when you did the inspection on the house I am purchasing.

I have been in the real estate business for more that 21 years and have just retired as broker in a Harry Norman Realtors office with 50 plus agents. I have participated in many home inspections during this time so I feel I am well qualified when I say your inspection was one of the most professional and thorough I have seen. I was impressed when you, in trying to protect my confidentiality, took me aside and asked me just how much you should reveal in front of the listing agent. You explained the report in detail, pointing out each area of concern. You even told me I could call you, anytime, and you could give me recommendations as to who to call for repairs and maintenance. This is very important to me as I live out of the area.

Oh, and you physically got up on the roof! I haven't seen an inspector to that in years! They typically do a "visual" inspection from the ground with binoculars.

You were quick to point out the possible mold problem and recommeded sending off a sample for a speedy analysis. You also had a recommendation for remediation if it comes back positive..

I feel you definitely earned your fee. I would be most happy in recommending you to other agents, buyers and sellers.

I wanted to thank you for the excellent work you did for me on both the pre-drywall and final inspections. As a result of your detecting the use of non-galvanized nails on my siding during the pre-drywall inspection, I was able to bring this to the attention of my builder and successfully have the problem repaired. Although it was quite a struggle to have the builder correct the problem to my satisfaction, the problem was corrected prior to my closing on the house.

You detected a problem that affected several houses in my subdivision and several more in another development as well. Thanks to your discovery, this serious problem is being addressed for all homes. I am grateful that this problem was brought to light while my home was still under construction and prior to closing. Several of the other homes were not as lucky. It was certainly well worth the relatively small investment for a home inspection to protect the much larger investment in a new home.

The simplest thing I can say, after 1 1/2 years of living worry-free in our first home is thank you!

My husband and I were first-time homebuyers in the early summer of 1997 and needed a quality inspection performed on our prospective house. I had heard good things about HOMEPRO Home Inspections in the past but did not expect such a courteous, thorough and insightful inspection of the residence.
